Last night, we once again we headed
off to Ft.Collins to Jimmy C’s Fish and Chips – the best fish and chips in NoCo – if not Colorado (I love the Haddock – it’s so hard to find in the states)… last night they were having a Heineken promotion – I learned about it in their Facebook feed… 2 for 1 Heinekens and giveaways from 5:30 until 6:30… well that can’t be bad can it?
The answer was a resounding “No – it’s not bad at all”… so we get there right on the dot of 5:30… and the place isn’t that busy… but it got busier after we ordered our beers and haddock+chips – Dianne ordered a haddock only and I had a large Haddock + Chips – plus we ordered a Heineken each, with our freebie Heineken to follow.
The promo folks were just setting up as we sat down to drink a beer – and they came over and gave us each a Heineken bottle-cap pin with flashing LED – I figured we better wear them… so we sat there while our fish was fried and supped a beer … nice and quiet-like.
We were close to the door and it was there they setup the giveaway area – a whiteboard telling us they had t-shirts, hats and a cooler to give out… nice …
So dinner was good – and it finished with time to sit and digest before they started drawing prizes – the nice man from the promotion came over and thanked us for being patient – because he was a little late giving out his swag… so he gave us a hat each for our patience… nice!!
Then he started pulling “tickets” – I forgot – we were given tickets just for being there.. seemed ok… Dianne normally wins something when there is a giveaway, so it had to be worth drinking a little slower to see if we would be in the prizes…
YES!! My ticket comes out and I win… another hat… but the nice promo guy swaps it for a t-shirt – excellent!!
Some other folks get some prizes… and then we’re down to the last giveaway… the cooler… it’s a nice white Coleman cooler, with Heineken emblazoned on the front… and guess whose ticket gets drawn… of course… Dianne’s ticket!!
Yay!!! Fish and chips, 2-for-1 Heinekens and lots of SWAG!!! Buying local never came with so many bonuses… 😉
